Having placed lower than ten the previous two times she had competed, she admitted that she was taken aback to find herself in the top 10.
“My objective was to simply place in the top 10 so that I could conclude the weekend feeling like I had improved from the previous year. For me, it’s all about bettering oneself,” Milliken remarked.
However, she eventually reached the top five and kept moving up the ranks until there were just herself and one other competitor remaining.
Now that she is carrying her crown, she wants to talk to young ladies about something.
“You can do anything you set your mind to, regardless of how your body looks or where you’re from,” Milliken declared.
The week of Thanksgiving, Milliken will participate at the national level.
“She was really great the entire weekend; it came down to the top two and me,” Milliken remarked. “Well, I can say with confidence that the top five are all accomplished women, but the top two in particular are two incredible women,” I said.
