Ranaut was en route to Delhi after her election from the Himachal Pradesh constituency in the Lok Sabha Elections when the incident occurred.

Amidst Nationwide Agitation: Kangana Ranaut Controversial Statement

During the peak of a nationwide agitation, Ranaut had made remarks in a social media post claiming that an elderly woman at a protest site was being paid ₹100 to sit there. Following severe backlash, Ranaut had to delete the post.

In a video recorded by onlookers at the airport, Ranaut can be seen escorted to the security checkpoint where the incident took place. An argument erupts upon reaching the area, resulting in her being escorted away. However, the video does not capture the alleged slap.

Hours later, Ranaut shared a video message detailing the incident at the airport. She described how the security guard waited for her to cross the checkpoint before hitting her and hurling expletives, citing support for farmers as the reason.

Ranaut has been no stranger to controversy, facing online backlash in February 2021 after criticizing singer Rihanna’s post on the farmers’ protest, labeling the protestors as “terrorists”. She later deleted the post.

The farmers’ protest that gained momentum in 2020/21 captured global attention. Ranaut’s outspoken criticism of the protests and questioning their legitimacy has sparked debates and controversies, with incidents like her convoy being blocked by agitators in Chandigarh during her campaign.
